FAIST Agenda
The FAIST Agenda - Agile, Intelligent, Sustainable and Technological Factory - was created in response to the needs of the footwear and leather goods sector. This project will give a significant boost to the Portuguese footwear and leather goods cluster, increasing its degree of specialization and diversity of new products, as well as equipment and process goods. At the same time, it will prepare companies and their staff to use new technological tools and face future challenges, making companies more resilient. The work resulting from the involvement of a diverse consortium will result in significant increases in the agility of the response to markets and the sustainability of the entire chain, supported by advanced technologies and a high intelligence component, with significant differentiation and international projection.
The consortium led by CARITÉ and technically coordinated by the Portuguese Footwear Technology Center (CTCP) is made up of 45 entities: 14 footwear and leather goods companies, 9 component companies, 16 technology-based companies and 6 associations and science and technology interface entities.
Objectives, activities and expected results:
- Broaden the range of specialization of the sector's industry (new product types);
- Increase the supply capacity of companies (small, medium and large orders);
- Increase national production of advanced equipment and technologies;
- Investing in sustainable manufacturing and products;
