Management Systems Implementation

Consultancy

Want to make your business more competitive?

Certification allows better businesses, and better products/services, acting as a strategic factor in an increasingly competitive and global market.

STREAM prepares organizations and supports the Management Systems implementation, in order to demonstrate their compliance with national and international standards, but also with the applicable legislation and regulations.

The process begins with setting the as-is state of the organization, and then is defined an action plan tailored to the client's needs and with its involvement until obtaining the certification. STREAM also has a crucial role, through internal audits, in supporting the maintenance of certification over the years.

Research, Development and Innovation

“For the excellent company, innovation is the only permanent thing!”
Tom Peters

Knowledge and innovation are core factors in the economic development of organizations.

The implementation of NP 4457 allows organizations to define the requirements for an effective Research, Development and Innovation Management system, based on an innovation model aligned with three interfaces: technological, organizational and market.

The implementation of this wealth-generating mechanism will contribute to innovation objectives and, above all, for organizations to innovate, whether in terms of new goods or services, new methods and processes, as well as in other domains. Thus, STREAM will lead the entire process until the organizations' certification.

Thus, STREAM has know-how in the following standard:

  • NP4457

Energy

Energy is critical for organizations and can be one of their main costs, regardless of the sector of activity. This can also represent environmental and social costs derived from climate change and the depletion of natural resources.

This standard, through systematic energy management, helps companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, environmental impacts and energy costs.

Thus, STREAM has know-how in the following standard:

  • ISO 50001
    Energy Management System

Food Safety

Keeping food safe from farm to fork by ensuring hygienic practices and traceability at every step of the supply chain is essential to the food industry (e.g. primary production, transport, storage, various service providers, among many others).

Therefore, it is considered very important to implement a food safety management system in order to guarantee to the end consumer that the company and its stakeholders are able to supply safe products, in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements, and the Codex Alimentarius.

Thus, STREAM has know-how in the following standard:

  • ISO 22000
    Food Safety Management System

Occupational Health and Safety

Organizations are responsible for the occupational health and safety in the workplace, including their employees and other interested parties, according to the context of the organization.

ISO 450001 succeeds to OHSAS 18001, which will be valid until March 2021. If organizations do not migrate to the new regulatory framework, they will have their current certificate expired.

The ISO 45001 implementation reflects the organization's commitment to providing safe and healthy working conditions while eliminating hazards, reducing risks to safety and health at work, but also the risk of claims, insurance payments, fines, casualties, etc.

Thus, STREAM has know-how in the following standard:

  • ISO 45001

CE Marking

The sale and free movement in the European Economic Area of certain products (New Approach Directives - Link) requires the CE marking, which will ensure its compliance with the essential requirements defined by European legislation with regard to the health and safety of users and consumers.

As a general rule, this mark is the responsibility of the manufacturer or his authorized representative established in the European Economic Area and, exceptionally and with due justification, the person responsible for placing the product on the Community market.

In situations of non-compliance, the entities responsible for the respective control can take the appropriate measures (such as the withdrawal of products from the market or fines).

In fact, it is important to check whether the products to be placed on the European Economic Area are within the scope of one of the directives that requires the CE marking.

Forest Stewardship Council

The Forest Stewardship Council standard (FSC) defines the principles and criteria for environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management, from extraction to commercialization of forest-based products to the final consumer.

FSC includes all types of forest spaces present in Portugal (plantations, forests, among others). It is also applicable in different scales (large industrial owners and small owners) and species (eucalyptus or pine plantations and cork or holm oaks).

In general, this certification facilitates access to the ecomarket for products from forestry sector organizations.
