Map with potential locations for renewable gases projects in Portugal
Portugal has strong arguments to remain at the forefront of promoting the decarbonization of the economy and the energy transition towards carbon neutrality by 2050, as an opportunity for the country, based on a democratic and fair model of territorial cohesion that enhances wealth generation and efficient resource utilization.
The development of an industry for renewable gases production in Portugal, including green hydrogen and biomethane, will greatly contribute to decarbonization and also to the country's long-term strategic vision.
In order to support the rapid energy transition and the decision-making process regarding project locations in Portugal, STREAM has developed a "Map with potential locations for renewable gases projects in Portugal."
This dynamic map offers a user-friendly experience, including the following information:
- Precise visualization of gas transportation and distribution networks;
- Identification of injection points in the grid;
- Constant updates related to Portuguese initiatives in the field of green hydrogen and biomethane (e.g., announced projects);
- Strategic insights, location, and consumption data for energy-intensive industries.
This map will be delivered in Google Earth format and supplemented with a document that explains its operation and provides a legend for the main themes.
With our new service, we aim to systematize, aggregate, and provide crucial information regularly to decision-making processes, especially those related to energy, climate, and energy-intensive industries (e.g., ceramics, glass, cement, and steel industries).
In addition to this proposal, STREAM can customize the map layers as needed and supplement it with other information that the client considers relevant to their project development in Portugal.
It is important to note that this map should always be complemented with consultation of territorial constraints related to nature conservation and risk values.
We are working daily to make responsible choices within and outside our organization, thereby helping to achieve the goals initially set in the Paris Agreement.
