Portugal leads the ranking with the best execution of EU funds

Portugal 2020 with a commitment rate of 114% and execution rate of 71%
Portugal 2020 reached in the fourth quarter of 2021 a commitment rate of 114%, with an increase of approved funds of 676,000 M€, and an execution rate of 71%, with an increase of 1 628 M€ of executed expenditure compared to September 2021.
The year 2021 showed the greatest dynamism in the increase in execution, enabling Portugal to end 2021 leading the ranking of Member States with the best execution of EU funds (execution measured in terms of certified expenditure). Among the countries with budgets over 7 000 M€, Portugal has already received 68,4% of reimbursement payments from the European Commission.
