RRP Open Call: energy transition in the fishing sector

Until February 15th, 2022, support for energy transition and reduction of environmental impact is available for companies in the Fishing and Aquaculture sector.
Eligible for support are SME's whose mission is to carrying out activities related to the Fishing and Aquaculture sector in Continental Portugal, with projects within the following topics:
Digitization of processes, declarative acts and statutory documentation on board vessels;
Energy efficiency, emission reduction and electric and/or hybrid propulsion;
Hull with new formats and materials with low displacement friction that allow a reduction in energy consumption;
Safety and habitability on board of fishing vessels;
Circular economy in the Fishing and Aquaculture sector.
Funding will be provided in the form of a non-refundable grant, with the financing rate fluctuating between 50% and 75%. However, there is a maximum financing of EUR 1 M/project. Projects must also have eligible expenses equal to or greater than EUR 50,000, which include, for example:
Diagnoses, design studies, energy audits and licensing;
Expenses with equipment, propulsion engines, prototypes, hardware and software, adaptation and modernization of vessels; solar panels and other equipment to improve energy performance;
Operational costs essential to the investment, personnel costs during the period the project is being carried out; expenses with the installation of equipment and the adaptation of facilities.
A budget of EUR 12.6 M is foreseen for a total of 40 applications, distributing EUR 4.5 M for 15 applications for fishing vessels and EUR 8.1 M for 25 applications in the other topics.
